Dre Screeners, Crusher and Wash Plant

For those who are familiar with our Challonsleigh recycling facility, off the A38, just outside Plymouth. You will know we have 4 permitted sites. Three operational and one to come on stream soon.

At site A, our aggregates recycling facility, we have several large excavators and two 26-ton wheeled loading shovels to handle and process the inbound and outbound materials.

The mixed stone, concrete and soils we are permitted to accept is initially processed through our larger 3-way screener which separates the recyclate into large clean arisings and smaller mixed particles.  The large mixed material is taken to our crushing unit and the smaller transferred to our wash plant.

The J45 crusher is a formidable processor and together with a smaller but no less efficient screener the 3-way belts produce clean stone from 40mm up to 75mm and a 40mm to dust MOT type 1 that we call Dre Blend. This mixed aggregate is our best seller because it compacts beautifully into a hard and smooth surface.

Our clients get the best clean materials at a competitive price adding value as well as an environmentally sustainable aggregate that has been efficiently made with no waste to landfill.

The mixed aggregate materials derived from our initial screening process comprises of fine materials through to 40mm. This is taken to our onsite wash plant for further processing.

Although completely mobile in nature, the plant is a behemoth of a machine that can convert the feed material into 7 different products, in a fast and efficient manner.

Those products are 0-2mm sand, 0-4mm sand, 6mm grit, 10mm clean stone, 20mm clean stone, 40mm clean stone and lastly cake, a clay material that is an engineering fill as well as a liner for landfill, ponds, reservoirs, and lagoons.

This wash plant is one of only two in the southwest of England. It can handle extremely wet material as efficiently and as speedy as a dry material. There is no waste save for a very small amount of floated off plastics during the cleaning and separation process. Overband and Eddy current magnets capture all metals leaving a series of clean and sustainable products that would rival any that was quarried.  It truly is an environmentally friendly process where even the wash water is recycled to be used again and again.
